Senior Secondary Pathways

Year 10

Year 10 is an important year in a Victorian secondary school where students begin to explore their future pathways more deeply. They build on their learning from earlier years and start making decisions about subjects and career options for Years 11 and 12. It’s a key time for setting goals, developing skills, and preparing for senior school and life beyond.

Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/ Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCEVM)

The VCE is a senior secondary certificate completed in Years 11 and 12, leading to university, TAFE, or work. The VCE VM is an applied learning program within the VCE, designed for students who learn best through practical, real-world experiences, leading to apprenticeships, TAFE, or work.

The VPC is a flexible program for students in Years 11 and 12 who need additional support to complete their secondary education. It focuses on building skills in literacy, numeracy, and personal development, preparing students for further study, training, or work.
