Year 11 Subjects

Year 11 is an exciting step in every student's pathway journey, providing opportunities to explore interests, develop strengths, and work towards future career and study goals.

Students can choose from a wide range of subjects within the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), and Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs. These pathways allow students to tailor their learning to suit their aspirations, whether they are planning for university, TAFE, apprenticeships, traineeships, or employment.

When selecting subjects, students should consider their interests, strengths, future goals, and any prerequisite requirements for further study. Through careful subject selection, students can build a pathway that supports their success both during and beyond secondary school.

Senior Secondary Pathways - VCE, VCE VM, VPC - Subject Choices

  • VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education)

An academically focused pathway that provides extensive subject choice and supports a wide range of post-school destinations, including university, TAFE, apprenticeships, and employment.

  • VCE VM (VOCATIONAL MAJOR)

A practical and applied learning pathway within the VCE. It focuses on developing the skills, knowledge and capabilities needed for work, further training, apprenticeships and community participations.

    • Prefer hands-on and practical learning experiences

    • Learn best by applying knowledge in real-world contexts

    • Want to develop employability and workplace skills

    • Are interested in vocational learning and industry pathways

  • VPC (Victorian Pathways Certificate)

The VPC is a foundation level senior secondary certificate designed for students who would benefit from a more personalised and flexible learning program.

The VPC recognises student achievement while supporting learners to build skills, confidence and successful futures.

VPC is suited to students who:

    • Require additional support with their learning

    • Benefit from individualised learning goals

    • Are working towards achieving success at their own pace

    • Need a pathway that focuses on building strong foundations for future learning and employment
